MVS notifications outage 02092010 from 12.00 p.m. to 15.00 p.m. UTC

Dear Partners,

 

We would like to inform about forthcoming unscheduled maintenance works on MVS BSS  today, September 2nd 2010 from 12.p.m. (noon) to 15.00 p.m.(UTC)

During these 3 hours all notifications on Inmarsat Broadband services including alerts on Credit monitoring, activation/deactivation notifications  will be delayed with distribution.

This outage will not cause any degradation on services or limitation with operations via MVS.net portal.

We would like to apologize for inconvenience caused.

We’ll keep informed on progresses via News section on the MVS.net portal.

Incident Report: Unscheduled loss of Network service in I-4 EMEA 250810 14:25

Dear Partners,

 

On the 25th of August 2010 at 14:20 UTC, a failure of the Inmarsat Core Network Gateway (CNGw) at the Fucino Satellite Access Station (SAS)

caused a loss of BGAN/FB/SB services over EMEA. A reboot of the CNGw was performed and service successfully restored at 14:40.

The root cause of the problem is being investigated. All necessary corrective actions will be undertaken to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Dear Customers,
 
We would like to advise you of a scheduled activity on the Inmarsat  4F2 EMEA satellite. There will be a RAN site switch from Burum SAS
 
to Fucino SAS to allow essential maintenance activity to be performed at Burum .
 
The RAN Switch is scheduled on 22/08/2010. There will be a BGAN / FBB / SBB service outage for 2 minutes.

Scheduled BSS Maintenance 220810 09:00 UTC

Dear Customers,

 

We would like to advise you of forthcoming planned maintenance to the Inmarsat BSS as part of Inmarsat’s regular monthly System Level maintenance activity. 

 

This is scheduled to take place on Sunday 22nd August 2010 from 09:00 UTC with duration of up to three hours.  During this time the Inmarsat BSS and MVS platform will be unavailable affecting

 

all provisioning activities including activation, deactivation and suspension.  No service orders will be lost during this time as they will be queued and processed once the maintenance is complete. 

 

CDRs will be available as normal throughout this window.

 

Please note that this maintenance is only affecting Inmarsat BSS system provisioning activities, users will still be able to connect their terminals to the network and pass traffic.

We would like to advise you of a scheduled activity on the 4F2 EMEA satellite. There will be a change of satellite payload configuration to improve the satellite payload redundancy. This maintenance activity is scheduled on 18/08/2010 during the maintenance window.  There will be a BGAN / FBB / SBB / GSPS service degradation for new users accessing dark beams whilst this work is conducted.

On Wednesday, August 11 2010 starting 9.00 UTC (12.00 Moscow time) there will be scheduled 1 hour outage on the MVS BSS platform.

 

During this outage we’ll make some software upgrades which allow us to improve server performance.

 

Due to outage all requests for BGAN/FBB/SBB/GSPS activation/deactivation, CDR updates and monitoring alerts  will be delayed.

 

MVS BSS outage will not cause degradation of service.

Accidental report - Fly carrier was not working for 3-4 hours on Sunday, August 8, 2010

Dear Customers,

 

On Sunday, August 8th 2010 during night 3 -4 hours customers experienced problems with using Fly carrier service.

MVS had a problem with Internet connection from our provider. Fly carrier users were not able to use IP= 82.138.41.237 during time of recovery. 

Fly carrier service was restored at 06.00 p.m. (UTC)

Scheduled Paumalu Media gateway Upgrade 040810 0800UTC

 

Dear Customers,

 

We would like to advise you of a scheduled software upgrade on the Inmarsat Paumalu Media Gateway. 

 

This is being performed in order to fix a fault whereby some types of BGAN UT do not receive ringing tone when calling another BGAN UT.  

 

The upgrade will include two Media Gateway restarts each causing an outage of approximately four minutes each and spaced approximately 20 minutes apart.

During the outages all new circuit switched call attempts to/from BGAN/FB/SB, IsatPhone Pro and Classic Aero subscribers in the APAC

and AMER satellite regions will fail and any existing calls will be terminated.

 

In addition packet switched users will have their data sessions deactivated during the outage and SMS will be unavailable.

Scheduled service degradation MoIP Voicemail 030810 22:00 UTC

Dear Customers,

 

Inmarsat informed of scheduled service degradation on the MoIP Voicemail platform. 

 

This outage is required to set up the configuration for the multi-language service within the MoIP system.

 

During this configuration users will be unable to deposit and/or retrieve voicemails.  However, provisioning of new VoIP service will remain unaffected during this time.

 

Reason for notice:                    

Configuration of a multi-language voicemail system

Services affected:                    

MoIP Voicemail platform service degradation – calls to deposit and/or retrieve voicemail will be affected. No impact to voicemail provisioning.

Scheduled MVS BSS upgrade on Wednesday August 4th, 2010

Dear Customers,

 

We would like to advise  you about scheduled activity  on the MVS BSS platform.  

There will be an 1 hour outage  starting from 9.00 a.m. (UTC) August 4th, 2010 during which MVS BSS platform will be upgraded.

 

This outage will affect BSS operations for BGAN/FBB/SBB/ISATphone users of MVS.

There will be a delay with requests for activations/deactivations, CDR delivery,

online traffic usage monitoring for BGAN/FBB/SBB/ISATphone users.

 

This outage will not affect providing any services for customers.

When upgrade will be completed all postponed operations on the MVS BSS platform  will continue executing.

Unsheduled outage on the MVS BSS platform

We are currently expereincing outage on the MVS BSS platform caused with the problems on the link between MVS and Inmarsat BSS platform.

CDRs download, requests for activation/deactivation for the broadband services are delayed.

We are investigation this problem with Inmarsat and doing our best to resolve at shortest.

Thrane and Thrane Explorer 727:  Software Version 1.12

We are pleased to inform you that the Thrane and Thrane Explorer 727 Land Vehicular software version 1.12 is released and available for download from the MVS library

This is a medium priority release.  In this release are new features and bug fixes, including improved ISDN error handling, support for multiple PDP context

activations via the handset and remote activation of PDP contexts via SMS.

This release will be available for download within one week through the BGAN LaunchPad Update Service.

Scheduled Live BSS Firewall Upgrade 280710 1000UTC
Dear customers,

 

We would like to advise you of a scheduled activity on the Inmarsat  London live BSS firewall. There  will be upgrading the firewall from Cisco PIX 8.0.4(32) to Cisco ASA 8.3.

The upgrade will cause up to a 15 minutes interruption.  Following the successful upgrade Inmarsat  will perform failover testing which will cause four 30 second interruptions.

This outage will affect CDR collection from the DPI, BSS Provisioning, Prepay OVMS (Open Voucher Management System) and BrandNUI.

 

Customers are requested to please verify their connectivity to the listed services before and after this activity and let us know of any issues. 

 

This upgrade will enable Inmarsat to provide partners with enhanced and secure services.
